This piece was written for the 50th anniversary of St. Mark’s church, Wimbledon. The words are very appropriate for this type of occasion. They take you through the reason we love church – prayer, preaching, baptism, communion and, of course, singing. And as we know, in the midst of believers, God is there – ‘We love the place, O God, in which your honour dwells’. This is a foretaste of the heavenly church where God’s people will worship one day.
