Merton Sing-fest is a great annual day event organised by Wimbledon Choral in partnership with the Merton Music Foundation involving schoolchildren, young people, adults and seniors within the borough to highlight and celebrate the rich diversity of choirs in and around the London Borough of Merton. 

Each year an anthem is commissioned to be sung by the combined choirs. For 2026, it was commissioned by Wimbledon Choral : lyrics written by the music director of Wimbledon Choral, Daniel Mahoney with music composed by myself.

With the Sing-fest having so many choirs, the piece has optional parts for children’s choir – a descant and melody part. However, it can be sung with just an SATB choir with the sopranos taking the melody then descant in the last section.
